Hailing from Marlow in Buckinghamshire, Interkoola are, without doubt, the very best "covers" band around. With a mix of Indie, Brit Pop and Rock classics, every gig is filled with passion, energy and a true love for the music. Wez has been singing since he was 15 years old. Started up a karaoke/disco business and then eventually getting into bands in 2008. He comes from the fens in Lincolnshire (Boston) and has played some awesome venues and festivals . His favourite being the historic Gliderdrome, where he had followed in the footsteps of all the stars including...the Who, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones & T-Rex to name a few. Wez's influences are Paul Weller, Oasis, brit pop, Robbie Williams, Elvis & the Rolling Stones ! Wez once went for X Factor, but the chicken man got further!!
Rich is an experienced bass player who joined Interkoola in the spring of 2017 . He loves every minute of being in this band with these boys and feels at home playing Indie, Blues and pure Rock n Roll. He has been performing for the last 20 years, enjoying both studio but especially playing live. He loves the challenge of learning new material with Interkoola but don’t ask for any Shania Twain...!!
Started playing the guitar (classical/jazz) when his arms were long enough, his guitar teacher (about 75) had played with Django Reinhardt. Paul took guitar exams in the legendary Tin Pan Alley (Denmark St London), a major influence and then switched to rock music. He gained experience and played in bands on/off for 20+ years before co-founding Interkoola. Music Influences are Rock Steady/Bluebeat/Ska, early Bowie, rock, punk, grunge, the British pop scene, funk and even some hip hop (Fun Lovin Criminals style). He Loves listening to new sounds and all live music. He checks the news every day to see if Oasis has reformed so he can be first in line for tickets.
Got his first kit from Drum City in Soho, London aged 13 and later jammed with best mate & soon-to-be Free lead guitarist Paul Kosoff, who he sat next to at school. Pete’s played in many bands for over the past 30+ years in London and the home counties. His drum idols and influences are Keith Moon, Ringo Starr, Micky Curry, John Bonham, Tico Torres, Tré Cool, Stuart Copeland and Chad Smith to name a few. Music influences are mainly Rock, Indie, Soul, R&B and Britpop! He co-founded Interkoola with Paul and Wez in 2017, who were joined soon after by Rich. The best band mates you could wish for!
We always aim to provide a fantastic night for both the venues we play in and the people who come along to watch us and give us the opportunity to entertain them. Here are just a few kind words that have been said about us.
"We absolutely love Interkoola, the band that really got us started musically after we took over and re-launched the Duke. They play absolutely fab music and we love the atmosphere when they're here. These guys are loads of fun and our customers just love them. You've got to see them!"
"Another great gig from Interkoola!! This is now the second time we've had the privilege of the guys playing in our pub and what a fantastic evening! All the great sing-a-long indie classics with a few quirky requests thrown in for good measure. Great to have a local band playing in our little pub, can't wait to have them back in the next few weeks!"
"Had a top top night at the Dashwood Arms in West Wycombe just before Christmas, Interkoola had the place jumping! Great arrangement of covers...definitely be back to see these guys again very soon."
"Went to see Interkoola play a few weeks ago at the Chequers in Marlow for the first time and to be honest I was blown away with how good they were, great energy and had a amazing repertoire of songs."
"I have been lucky enough to see Interkoola on three occasions in The Duke. It is amazing how well they fit into the small space available. They are four very professional musicians with a great repertoire. A really enjoyable experience. They would be a great band for all types of events"
"Since watching Interkoola at their first gig in Marlow they have become a 'must see again' in my social calendar. I make sure that I don't miss any gigs. Ever since hearing the band they have been a 'breath of fresh air' on the Marlow music scene. Their rendering and interpretation of music from the early sixties to the present day is excellent. They are certainly great value for an enjoyable evening's entertainment!"
"1st experience of Interkoola was at the Duke in Marlow (best landlady ever) last year. Absolutely amazing music and lights, who play a wide variety of tunes and dedications. The guys are all wonderful, fun and handsome. They bring music to a new level and rock every time they play. DON'T miss them!"
“I’ve seen Interkoola play about 4 times now and each time they just get better and better. Their versions of some songs are better than the originals! I’ve even got a Deezer playlist of their set. Their last gig at the Chequers Marlow was amazing, the while crowd had an awesome time. I’ve filled my diary with their future dates and really hope I can make as many as possible.”
